A sample of what you have been asking for:
Personalized trips for Greece!

Personalized information for Greece is designed to offer a specialized, well researched package of information, sent to you via the web, which contains abundant information, from our individual knowledge of the country according to your wishes and desires.

Here is a sample web document that contains information on the following request:

We have just married and would like to go to Greece for our honeymoon. However, we want out honeymoon to fullfil our personal interest in caves. Please supply us with an personalized package. We will be leaving New York on Saturday, October 11, and returning October 17. We are a couple and can fly from any of New York's airports. We eat meat and are willing to try new recipes. Our taste in hotels calls for a clean hotel, that is not expensive and will only be used for resting. All in all, we are just a romantic couple!

Here is the sample document as provided in a special web page for you. Since this is a samplem, important information is missing intentionally.

  • Preparation
  • Transport
  • Arrival, hotel, first night

  • Departure
  • Post-travel

PREPARATION
Before setting out to a week in Greece, you must make sure you have the following:
  • Passport. You dont need a VISA, but must have a valid passport
  • Greek money. You should have minimum Greek money with you, we suggest you should have about DRA 15000 (which is about $55). You can order this a week in advance through banking centers via mail. Call for more details.
  • You should have the appropriate dress for the season. In October, Greece is still warm, with the daytime temperature at about 20C (about 68F), dipping to about 13C (about 56F) during the night. Take a thick sweater with you, a light wind cheater, and some thick trousers or jeans. In some areas, the caves can get pretty cold.
  • Greece has 220V electricity so ensure you have dual coltage hairdryers or travel irons. Alternately, you can purchase a converter from Radio Shack for $16.95 (1000W version). Please bear in mind that this converter can NOT BE USED for radios, walkmans, hairdryers or other objects with similar characteristics. However, it is for electric irons, and portable heaters.
  • The telephone system is modern. You will use prepaid phone cards to call home, or an AT&T, MCI or SPRINT card with a free local number as access point. The prepaid phone cards are cheaper. To dial the US from any Greek phone, dial 001 then the area code and the number.
  • Ensure you have your tickets, check the dates and go to the airport about two hours before the flight, at about 3:50pm in this case. You can also get drachmas at Kennedy's exchange centers.
  • Remember that airports are expensive eating places, so dont plan of having dinner at the airport!

  • Bon Voyage

    TRANSPORT
We suggest you fly with an airline that flies directly to Greece. There are two airlines: Olympic Airways and Delta Airlines. By checking with TRAVELOCITY we find the following schedules:

  • OA416 New York-Athens 5:50p - 11:55a (next day)
  • OA417 Athens-New York 2:35p - 5:55p (same day)
  • Bookings must be made for this flight. The cost as shown by Travelocity is $1295, however a cheaper fare may be gotten by specialized travel agents in New York. According to the system, there are still seats available, so you should be able to reserve the seats whenever suitable for you. Onboard the flight you should expect a dinner, a film and breakfast for the next day. This flight stops in Boston to pick up additional passengers.

To make it easier on you, you should set your watches to Athens time (EST+7) and arrange your day as if you were on Athens time. Thus when you enter the plane at 5:00p, it is actually 2am and you should be getting tired, as if you were having a late night. Have your dinner and then I suggest you get some sleep. This way you would be fresh and ready for action by the time you arrive.

    ARRIVAL
Your plane arrives at the Western terminal (reserved for OA flights only) on Sunday, at 11:55 am. Change some money here and beware of the Commission you would have to pay. It is better to use a credit card to get money from ATMs, than to change at the airport. You can use VISA, or Mastercard in Greece with your home PIN code. Instructions are provided in English. If you have an account with you would be able to use your account as if you were at your home ATM.

Outside the terminal you should get the express bus, a Blue Express Bus with English writing on the side "EXPRESS - ATHENS." Watch out because there is also a bus for PIREAUS so make sure you take the Athens bus. The bus stop is just outside the terminal. It costs DRA 175 each. For your comfort the bus is airconditioned.

There are many hotels that you can stay confortably in Athens. We recommend the hotel because of its service, price and location. It will be about 2pm by the time you get in Athens so we suggest you check in, freshen up and then go for a stroll. Near this hotel, and within view of it, is the Acropolis, the hallmark of Athens. It will be a nice Sunday afternoon walk you would have to do, to go up and see the Parthenon, the various temples and the museum. The view of Athens from the Acropolis is superb, especially if the weather is clear (it should about 68 degrees (20C) in Athens at the time, although a few showers are to be expected.

After your walk, you should be ready for a light dinner, so we recommend you head to Plaka and a restaurant called , in Adrianou street. When you exit your hotel, turn left and you get to a square. Turn right and take the street to the left of the square (as you look down on it). This is Adrianou. On the next corner turn left, and a few meters further up is this reaturant. As you like meat and exciting recipes, whatever you eat is fine. Some representative prices include Greek Salad for DRA 1200/$4 (horiátiki saláta), Pork Chops for about DRA 2800/$10 (paithákia heereená) and Retsina for DRA 1000/$3 per liter. A side order of fries costs DRA 800/$2.50 (patátes). Enjoy the baklavá and the Greek coffee (kafé). You can find more recipes here.

    ITINERARY

This will be supplied as per request. It will be detailed, full of photographs and details about your trip, from the buses, trains and planes you have to take, right down to the places we suggest you should stay. More personalized than organized travel.
